Koats 4 Kids is dedicated to focusing on community, kids and culture in the Colorado Springs area. Organized in 2007, Koats 4 Kids has raised more than $70,000 for the Colorado Springs Conservatory and provided coats to every child at Will Rogers Elementary (D-11), Oak Creek Elementary (D-2), Pinnello Elementary-twice (D-3), Evans Elementary Schools (D-49) - twice, Fountain Ft Carson (D-8), Helen Hunt (D-11), Centennial Elementary (D-2) and Abrams Elementary (D-8) in that time. The 2017 coat recipient school is: Queen Palmer, located in District 11 and all monies raised will benefit the Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning to help build a sensory-friendly playground.
The organization selects a different school district/elementary school every year as the recipient of the coat drive. The school is selected based on the needs of the students. The goals of the event are two-fold: 1) to collect new coats for children and 2) to raise funds for a different youth organization each year.
The event will include a reception of good company, good food, good spirits and great entertainment. This year the event will be held at The Pinery on the Hill on Friday, October 13, 2017 5:30pm-9:00pm. In lieu of an entry fee invited guests are asked to bring one new children’s coat per person (for a boy or girl youth sizes 5-16). Appetizers, drinks and entertainment will be provided, plus an opportunity to win great door prizes and bid on silent auction items.
This event is an excellent opportunity for the community to help kids in need and support our youth arts and culture in a unique and inexpensive way. We hope that you will partner with us and many other wonderful organizations and experience one of the best community events ever.
